What the service does

Certalyn lets an organisation record credentials it has issued, and lets a third party check the current status of one of those records.

What a verification result means

A result reports what the issuing organisation recorded, and whether that record has since expired or been withdrawn by that organisation.

It is not a statement by Techvora that the holder earned the qualification, attended a course, passed an assessment, or is competent to do anything. Techvora does not award, accredit, assess or endorse any credential issued through Certalyn, and does not verify the accuracy of what an issuer enters.

Anyone relying on a credential for a decision that matters should treat Certalyn as confirming the issuer’s own record, and take whatever further assurance that decision warrants.

The issuing organisation’s part

An organisation using Certalyn is responsible for the accuracy of what it issues, for having a lawful basis to hold the personal data it enters, for withdrawing a credential that should no longer be relied on, and for who it gives access to its account.

Availability and accounts

Certalyn is provided on a subscription basis. Where access is restricted — for example at the end of a trial or a subscription — an organisation stops being able to issue or change credentials, and its existing records are retained rather than deleted.

Public verification of credentials that have already been issued is deliberately not tied to an issuer’s subscription, because a verifier is relying on a statement the issuer made to them.

Acceptable use

Certalyn must not be used to issue records that are intended to mislead, to impersonate another organisation, or to represent Techvora as the awarding body. Bulk or automated interrogation of the public verification service is not permitted.
